Katherine Bernhardt’s immersive artwork at Forty Five Ten’s No Aloha café spurs another exclusive collaboration, this time with one of our favorite designers, Rachel Comey.
From the first stroke of fuchsia-hued spray paint, we knew our partnership with Katherine Bernhardt was going to be big. Initially, Bernhardt was commissioned to transform the café on the lower-level of our Dallas flagship store. “We created No Aloha to be a fun, inviting place to hang out and grab a bite while shopping,” says President and Chief Creative Officer, Kristen Cole. “Bernhardt’s signature pattern-style painting was the perfect fit.”

Cole requested bright and welcoming; Bernhardt responded with a floor-to-ceiling explosion of tropical birds, flora, and fruits. “One feels almost a part of, or perhaps a character, within Berhhardt’s work when dining in the café,” wrote PaperCity Culture and Style Editor, Billy Fong.
Earlier this spring, the work was repurposed for a 4510/SIX line of limited-edition ceramics produced by the artist and Cerámica Suro in Guadalajara, Mexico. Now, the tropical motifs have emerged on an exclusive jacket by New York designer, Rachel Comey. Her unisex work jacket features a custom Bernhardt print with toucans, bananas, cigarettes, and flowers straight off the walls of No Aloha.
